The Flor Ribeirinha Cultural Association has been working for more than 25 years in the rescue, maintenance, protection and diffusion of popular culture, especially Siriri and Cururu, as well as other forms of expression of Brazilian popular culture such as Boi Bumbá, Frevo, Samba , etc. It was founded in the city of Cuiabá in the State of Mato Grosso in Brazil, in a riverside and historical community, called São Gonçalo Beiro Rio, where the group experience and preserve the traditions of the feasts of saints, clay pottery production and typical foods and drinks. As a pioneer and reference the group took on the important task of disseminating popular culture not only in the State of Mato Grosso, but for the whole of Brazil and the World.

Today, many young people attend the call of the community and understand the importance of the preservation and diffusion of popular culture and the riverside Pantanal tradition. Since 2010, the Flor Ribeirinha group has toured in several countries of the American continent like Peru, Paraguay and Argentina. In partnership with the Brazilian Federation of Folk Arts – FEBRARP BRASIL larger flights were held, participating in major International Folklore Festivals in Europe, including in France in Martigues, Montoire and Confolens, Italy in Tarcento, Apiro, etc.

In 2016, the group competed in the “Cheonan World Dance Festival” in South Korea and conquered the 2nd place of the event. In 2017, we participated in the biggest competition of Art and Culture in the world, the “18th Festival of Buyukçekmece” in Turkey. We presented the show MATO GROSSO DANÇANDO BRASIL, which honors the traditional Brazilian manifestation of stage dances with various nuances, characters, rhythms and gestures. The composition of the repertoire gave us the opportunity to win the Festival championship.
