A long time ago, when Vitosha Mountain was known as the High Ridge, and Ljulin Mountain as the Long Ridge, lived Vita and Ljulin. They loved each other, but Vita’s mother promised her daughter to a rich man. The girl ran to the top of the mountain, but her mother cursed her to become a stone and she turned into what today is called Cherni vrah. Meanwhile Ljulin wandered lonely and wretched in the other mountain.
