VITOSHA International Folklore Festival


Vitosha International Folklore Festival is held annually in July in the capital of the Republic of Bulgaria – Sofia.
Vitosha IFF is a cultural event of international scale and great national importance, helping us to preserve our national image through our folklore. Representatives of different cultures from all over the world meet during this impressive occasion, united by their great love of folklore.
The purpose of the festival is to promote the art of regional folk dance from different areas of Bulgaria, and to get the audience acquainted with the folklore of the visiting countries. The festival is an opportunity to create new contacts and friendships.
The first Vitosha IFF was held in 1996, and since 2016, the 20th anniversary edition, the festival has been competitive. Vitosha International Folklore Festival is a member of the Federation of international dance festivals FIDAF. The festival is awarded as FIDAF Best Festival Award for 2016, 2019 and 2020.
