The El Balcón de los Artistas corporation was founded by Martha Elena Álvarez in 1992 in order to counteract the wave of violence experienced in the city of Medellín. In addition, it emerged as an initiative to show to the population different ways for social change. For almost three decades of existence, the corporation has been working with children and young people between 3 and 27 years of age, making positive transformations on its dancers through the art of dance, living spaces, social development and inclusion.
